About Kelley

I am currently working on a memoir-in-essay manuscript project as a writer in the Eulalie and Carlo Scandiuzzi Writers' Room Residency at the Central Library in downtown Seattle. You can also find me in my art studio making a mess of things. The lastest project is a box of old piano keys which will represent my own disassembly and reconfiguring of church and spirituality.

A few years ago I moved with my husband, down from a tiny high-altitude town in the Colorado Rockies to sea level in Seattle. Behind me, sits the house where I raised four sons and all the life that comes before 50.  In front of me is all the change that comes when you trade the thin air of remote places for the thick air of an empty nest in the city. Here, near a bay with seals and cargo ships, you could say I had to come down off a mountain to learn a new way to live. And I'd like to share it with you.

This site will be expanding as a hub for my writing and visual projects. I hope you will stay connected and subscribe below for occasional updates. And feel free to follow along on Instagram.
